Residential Health & Safety

This program establishes the procedures for the inspection of all single and multiple-family residential rental units, and for inspection of all dwellings sold within the San Pablo city limits. This program assures that the City's residential units comply with existing state and local building, electrical, fire and plumbing code standards, to ensure the structures are safe for occupancy, and housing stock is maintained to acceptable standards.

Please note:  As of June 2017, due to current demand, Residential Health &Safety property inspections are currently backed up and scheduled out approximately one month in advance.  For this reason, property owners and their agents who are listing their properties for sale are advised to pay for and schedule RH&S inspections at the time of listing rather than waiting until an offer is pending to schedule the inspection, so that RH&S inspections are completed before sale closing.
