Investigations

The Investigations Division consists of two units; Detectives and the Priority Oriented Policing Unit.  Each unit is supervised by a Sergeant, under the direction of a Lieutenant.  The primary responsibility of this division is to conduct in-depth investigations on criminal cases and prepare them for presentation to the District Attorney's Office.

Investigators are available around the clock to provide their expertise and to manage investigations requiring immediate attention such as homicide, sexual assaults and other violent crime.

Each detective team is assigned to investigate specific crimes that include: crimes against persons; sexual assaults, crimes against children and property/identity theft. Being assigned to investigate specific crime types enables detectives to gain expertise and network with investigators from other law enforcement agencies.
