Proposition 68:

In June of 2018, California voters approved Proposition 68 (Prop 68) - the Parks, Environment, and Water Bond - to fund local park rehabilitation, creation, and improvement, in addition to other environmental projects.

The City of San Pablo is pursuing grant funds through Prop 68 to renovate and expand the existing facilities at 2600 Moraga Road (also known as the El Portal Soccer Fields).

The City sought community input on this park renovation throughout the Spring and Summer of 2019.  The City submitted the application for grant funding in August 2019 and is expecting notification of application status in December 2019.  If the City is awarded grant funding, the City will hold additional community meetings to finalize project design.

As part of the City's outreach in preparation for the Prop 68 grant application, the City sought public input via community meetings and an online survey: www.surveymonkey.com/r/SPpark. Community meetings were held at Helms Community Hall (2450 Road 20) on Saturday, May 18 from 10AM to 12PM and on Tuesday, May 21 from 6PM to 8PM. Snacks, Spanish translation, and child entertainment were provided.
