Encroachment Permit

Any work performed in the public right of way requires an encroachment permit. For example, installation or repair of sidewalk, curb and gutter, driveway approach, sidewalk curb drain, sewer lateral, and any construction or staging requiring traffic or pedestrian control.

    City Hall Hours:  Monday thru Thursday, 7:30am-6:00pm; open during lunch time.
    With the exception of the San Pablo Senior Center, Public Works Maintenance & Operations/Corporation Yard, and Police Patrol Services; Youth & Recreation Services will be open Fridays with limited services.

  • PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT NOTICE:

    EFFECTIVE TUESDAY 3/17/2020

    Contra Costa Health Services released a “shelter in place” order on Monday, 3/16/2020. The intent of this order is to ensure people self-isolate in their places of residence to slow the spread of COVID-19, while enabling essential services to continue.

    To comply with this order, the Public Works Department at City Hall is closed until further notice. During this time, all Public Works non-essential services are suspended or delayed.

    Permits and Plan Checks:

    • Please use the blue drop box outside of Building, 13831 San Pablo Ave, San Pablo, CA 94806 for paper permits, applications, and plan checks.
    • If immediate attention is required for encroachment permits or plans, please email PWEngineering@sanpabloca.gov.
    • Public Works will continue to process electronic documents and respond to emails.

    Inspections (encroachment, sewer, sidewalk, etc.): 

    • Please call (510) 215-3060 and leave a voicemail with your name, phone number, permit number, job site address and a brief description to request an AM or a PM inspection.

    AVISO DEL DEPARTAMENTO DE OBRAS PÚBLICAS:

    EN EFECTO EL MARTES 03/17/2020

    El Departamento de Servicios de Salud del Condado de Contra Costa anuncio una orden de “quedarse en casa” el lunes el 03/16/2020. La intención de esta orden es asegurar que toda persona se quede en su hogar y aislarse para disminuir la difusión del virus “COVID-19” y asegurar que los servicios esenciales sigan siendo disponibles.

    Para cumplir con esta orden, el Departamento de Obras Públicas del Ayuntamiento está cerrado hasta nuevo aviso. Durante este tiempo, todos los servicios no esenciales de Obras Públicas se suspenden o retrasan.

    Permisos y Planos: 

    • Utilice el buzón azul afuera del Edificio, 13831 San Pablo Ave, San Pablo, CA 94806 para permisos en papel, solicitudes y cheques de planes.
    • Si se requiere atención inmediata para un permiso de “encroachment” (intrusiones), por favor envíe un correo electrónico a PWEngineering@sanpabloca.gov.
    • Obras Públicas continuará procesando documentos electrónicos y respondiendo a correo electrónicos.

    Inspecciones (“encroachment” (intrusiones), alcantarilla, banquetas, etc.): 

    • Llame al (510) 215-3060 y deje un mensaje de voz con su nombre, número de teléfono, número de permiso, dirección del sitio de trabajo y una breve descripción para pedir una inspección por la mañana o por la tarde.
