NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE FOLLOWING VACANCIES EXIST ON THE FOLLOWING BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES:

The City Council extends an invitation to any and all San Pablo residents (must reside within city limits) and/or representatives of San Pablo businesses interested in volunteering for community service by appointment to one of the boards, commissions or committees specified above.
The Committee reviews and reports on all revenues and expenditures received by the City and to ensure such revenues are spent by the City in the manner consistent with the voter-approved measure.

Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30am to 6:00pm. The application deadline may be extended, if necessary.

If you are interested in serving on one of the boards, complete and return the to the City's Clerk's Office.
PLANNING COMMISSION (5 Members, 4 Year Term) Meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm in the City Council Chambers. The Commission conducts hearings and renders decisions on applications for various permits required by City's zoning ordinance. Conducts hearings for investigation and review of amendments to the City's General Plan. Reports findings & recommendations to City Council. Investigates, reviews & reports findings/recommendations to City Council on the design and improvements of proposed major subdivisions, and creation of any proposed redevelopment area within the City. Conducts design review proceedings for commercial and multi-family residential projects. Design reviews of the architectural designs of projects, site landscape design and the design and location of any proposed signs. Must live within the City limits of San Pablo and be at least 18 years old. The Commission has five (5) members. Commissioners serve a four-year term. Meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm in the City Council Chambers. SAFETY COMMISSION (5 Members, 4 Year Term) Meets in January, March, May, July, September and November at 6:30pm at City Hall. The functions of the Safety Commission shall be to consider present and future traffic and general safety problems of the City of San Pablo, to make recommendations to the City Council and the City Manager concerning the same, and to act in an advisory capacity to the City Council and the City Manager with reference to the traffic and safety problems of the City. The Commission consists of (5) members. They meet in January, April, July and October at 6:30 pm at City Hall. The Police Chief and Public Works Director (or their designees) are ex-officio members. SAN PABLO COMMUNITY FOUNDATION GRANT REVIEW COMMITTEE (3 Members, 2 Year Term) Meets a minimum of 3 regular meetings each calendar year, and may hold special meetings as needed. An independent, legally cognizable non-profit corporation for the exclusive purpose of funding and supporting charitable and public service activities or organizations for the benefit of San Pablo residents. Applicants must be San Pablo residents or have a principal place of business in the City of San Pablo. CITIZENS OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE MEASURES S (FORMERLY Q) AND K (5 members, Unlimited Term) Meets as needed, San Pablo City Hall, Council Chambers The Committee reviews and reports on all revenues and expenditures received by the City of San Pablo from the transactions and use taxes imposed pursuant to Measures S (formerly Q) and K and to ensure that tax revenues are spent by the City in a manner consistent with the voter-approved measure, as well as any other voter-approved or council-approved priorities adopted to implement the provisions of Measure S (formerly Q). CONTRA COSTA MOSQUITO & VECTOR CONTROL DISTRICT (1 Member per Municipality, 4 Year Term) Meets on the 2nd Monday of every other month at 7:00 p.m. starting in January. Meetings are held at the District office, 155 Mason Circle, Concord at 7:00 pm. The Contra Costa Mosquito & Vector Control District is dedicated to the health and welfare of the county's more than 1 million residents by working to reduce the risk of diseases spread by insects and animals by controlling them in a responsible, environmentally conscious manner. The meetings are open to the public. https://www.contracostamosquito.com/ SAN PABLO YOUTH COMMISSION (25 Members, 1 Year Term) Meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The Commission shall be an advisory body in matters of youth needs, concerns, problems and social awareness. Youth Commission members must be between the ages of 13 and 21 years. CCTA (Contra Costa Transportation Authority) CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (1 Member per Municipality, 4 Year Term) Meetings are held via Zoom on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm To serve as San Pablo’s representative on Citizen’s Advisory Committee of 23 members. Twenty members are appointed by each of the 19 local jurisdictions within Contra Costa County (cities/towns), and Contra Costa County. Three “at-large” members are nominated by community-based stakeholder organizations within the County and are subsequently appointed to the CAC by the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA). Members serve a four-year term in a volunteer capacity and are eligible to receive reimbursement for travel to in-person meetings after they complete specified training such as Ethics and Sexual Harassment Prevention training. Until changed, meetings are held via Zoom on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm and normally last up to two hours. However, that is subject to change in the near future. At such time, the meetings will be held at the CCTA office in Walnut Creek. CONTRA COSTA LIBRARY COMMISSION (1 Member per Municipality, 4 Year Term) Meets at least quarterly in Library Headquarters in Martinez at 7:00 pm. To serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Supervisors and the County Librarian. A four-year term on Commission as city representatives (primary and alternate). City’s appointees must be registered voters and live within the city limits of San Pablo.

Building Code Board of Appeals
The San Pablo Building Code Board of Appeals has been established pursuant to Ordinance 2022‐001 which amended San Pablo Municipal Code Section 15.04.020. The Building Code Board of Appeals was established in order to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the Building Official relative to the application and interpretation of the California Building Codes. The Building Code Board of Appeals is appointed by the City Council and shall hold office at the pleasure of the City Council, but in no event shall serve longer than four years without reappointment by the City Council. The Board of Appeals shall conduct business in accordance with the requirements of the San Pablo Municipal Code section 15.04.020. This is a non‐compensated position
