2555 El Portal Drive Supportive Housing

Conversion of a vacant office building to 54 “microunits” of permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals. Includes parking for up to 39 vehicles. To be operated by the Contra Costa county Department of Health and Human Services. Application received 11/17/2020, approved by Planning Commission 11/23/2021 (Resolution PC21-09). Under construction.

Alvarado Gardens

Alvarado Gardens Affordable Housing

100 new apartments above 7,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. 99 apartments will be secured affordable housing, with one resident manager unit. Unit mix will include 26 three-bedroom units, 26 two-bedroom units, and 48 one-bedroom units. Ground floor retail contains 6,900 square feet of indoor retail space and 900 square feet of outdoor seating. Includes 126 existing parking spaces shared with Las Montañas grocery store and 40 new parking spaces in the rear of the building. Includes open space access to Wildcat Creek, including a new pedestrian bridge across the creek. Application received 11/18/2020, approved by Planning Commission 3/22/2022 (Resolution PC22-02).

2364 Road 20 2024 Update

2364 Road 20 Apartments

145 units of multifamily housing, 100% affordable. 43 ground level parking spaces are included, as well as 6 on-street spaces. The unit mix consists of 135 one-bedroom units, and 10 two-bedroom units. This is a revision to the project that was approved by the Planning Commission in 2022 (Resolution PC22-06). The revision application was received 10/16/2024, approved by Planning Commission 02/25/2025 (Resolution PC25-03).

1982.23rd1982-1988/1992 23rd Street Mixed-Use

Expansion of an existing mixed-use building containing a grocery store and 2 apartment units. The new addition includes 7 apartments and a new commercial space, including expanded space for the grocery store and a new ice cream shop. Parking included for 19 vehicles. The addition will contain an ADA accessible one-bedroom unit, four other one-bedroom units, and two two-bedroom units. This project was first approved with slightly different specifications on 10/25/2022 by the Planning Commission (PC22-07).  The developer made some revisions and proposed the project as described.  It was approved by the Planning Commission on 04/22/2025 (PC25-06).
