  • IMPORTANT UPDATE:  Until further notice, council meetings will be held in accordance with the Brown Act as currently in effect under the State Emergency Services Act, the Governor’s Emergency Declaration related to COVID‑19 and the Governor’s Executive Orders N‑25‑20 and N‑29‑20 that allow members of the City Council, City staff and the public to participate and conduct a meeting by teleconference, videoconference or both. 

    In order to comply with public health orders, the requirement to provide a physical location for members of the public to participate in the meeting has been suspended.  The public can participate in the meetings - information will be included on the City Council agenda located on the City website at City Council, Local Successor Agency, and Planning Commission Agendas and Minutes.

San Pablo is a General Law City incorporated in 1948 with a Council/Manager form of government. Under this style of government, the City Council makes policies and adopts ordinances (San Pablo Municipal Code) and the City Manager is responsible for carrying them out.

The City Council hires the City Manager and the City Attorney.
