Recent audits revealed that 15-45% of recycling carts are contaminated with trash or compost. Starting January 28, 2019, Republic Services — the City’s trash and recycling service provider — will resume recycling cart audits. If there is trash or compost in the recycling cart, a notice will be left on the cart identifying the source of the contamination and the account holder will be charged a $27.74 fee.
To avoid the fee and increase our recycling participation, please only put clean and dry plastics, metal, glass, paper, and cardboard materials in the blue recycling cart. Las auditorías recientes revelaron que el 15 a 45% de los depósitos de reciclaje están contaminados con basura o compost.
