Republic Services — the City’s trash and recycling service provider — has teamed up with Bye Bye Mattress, A Program of the Mattress Recycling Council, to provide a collection site for old, unwanted mattresses or box springs.  Households in the cities of Richmond, Hercules, Pinole, San Pablo, El Cerrito and unincorporated communities (including Alhambra Valley-west side, Bayview, East Richmond Heights, North Richmond, Rollingwood, Tara Hills, Montalvin, and El Sobrante) are eligible to bring 3 items per month to be recycled for FREE. 

Mattresses can be dropped off Wednesday – Saturday 9am-4pm at 101 Pittsburg Avenue, Richmond.  Please bring proper identification or utility bill with address of household generating the items. 

Businesses are not eligible for this free program but can bring their mattresses to the Golden Bear Transfer Station (1 Parr Blvd. Richmond - fees apply).  We can only accept whole items.  No excessively wet, damaged, soiled mattresses, or mattresses with bed bugs.  We do not accept car beds, fold out sofa beds and futons, waterbeds, air mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows, mattress toppers, or other furniture.  Visit www.richmondsanitaryservice.com or call (510) 262-7100 for more information.

Reciclaje de colchones GRATIS

Republic Services, el proveedor de servicios de basura y reciclaje de la ciudad, se ha asociado con Bye Bye Mattress, un programa del Consejo de Reciclaje de Colchones, para proporcionar un sitio de recolección de colchones viejos o no deseados. Los hogares en las ciudades de Richmond, Hércules, Pinole, San Pablo, El Cerrito y las comunidades no incorporadas (incluyendo Alhambra Valley-west side, Bayview, East Richmond Heights, North Richmond, Rollingwood, Tara Hills, Montalvin y El Sobrante) pueden traer 3 artículos por mes para ser reciclados GRATIS.

Los colchones se pueden traer de miércoles a sábado de 9 am a 4 pm en 101 Pittsburg Avenue, Richmond. Una identificación apropiada o factura de servicios públicos con la dirección del hogar es necesaria para poder dejar los artículos deseados a reciclar.

Las empresas no son elegibles para este programa gratuito, pero pueden traer sus colchones a la Estación de transferencia Golden Bear (1 Parr Blvd. Richmond, se aplican tarifas). Sólo se pueden aceptar artículos enteros. No se aceptaran colchones excesivamente húmedos, dañados o sucios, o colchones con chinches. No aceptamos camas de automóviles, sofá camas ni futones plegables, camas de agua, colchones de aire, sacos de dormir, almohadas, cubre-colchones u otros artículos similares.
