Work Completed This Week
Ghilotti Brothers, Inc. (GBI) continued with excavation and construction of roadway structural section along the east side of San Pablo Avenue north of La Puerta Road. Also, GBI provided construction support to subcontractors R.E. Maher for median curb construction and AVAR for soil nail wall construction.
R.E. Maher continued with median curb construction. Maher started at the south end of the project and progressed north along San Pablo Avenue. Maher finished the median curb for the first island along San Pablo Avenue north of Rivers Street.
AVAR, the subcontractor for the soil nail retaining wall, installed another verification nail and tested it for the required loads. This nail is 25 feet in length, which is the same as the design length for production nails. Once the verification nail passes the required testing, AVAR will start installation of production nails.
Work Forecast for Next Week
GBI will continue with excavation and construction of roadway structural section along the east side of San Pablo Avenue north of La Puerta Road. GBI will also continue providing construction support to R.E. Maher with median curb construction and AVAR for soil nail wall construction.
Also, R.E. Maher will continue with median curb construction progressing north.
Also, AVAR will start installation of production nails for retaining walls, provided the verification nail passes the required testing. If it doesn’t pass, then soil conditions will need to be evaluated.
Lastly, Subcontractor MBE will be on site to start work on street lighting and electrical.
