[ARCHIVED] San Pablo Avenue Complete Streets Project - Weekly Updates(07/02/18)

Work Completed This Week

Ghilotti Brothers, Inc. (GBI) continued with excavation and construction of roadway structural section along the east side of San Pablo Avenue north of La Puerta Road.  GBI also installed new pavement in San Pablo Avenue near Rivers Street, and prepared the areas adjacent to newly installed median curbs along San Pablo Avenue for the future installation of pavement.

GBI continued providing support for subcontractors R.E. Maher and AVAR for median curb construction and soil nail wall construction, respectively.

Also, R.E. Maher completed median curb construction from Rivers Street to Robert Miller Drive.

Progress on the installation of the retaining wall has been slow as AVAR tested a fourth verification nail.  Based on the results of this nail, the design engineer requested the installation of additional nails.

Work Forecast for Next Week

GBI will place asphalt at the extended turn pocket areas along San Pablo Avenue near the Rivers Street intersection.  GBI will also pave the areas adjacent to the new median curb, and place aggregate base material in the new median in preparation of the future placement of decomposed granite and landscaping.

AVAR will start installation of production nails and any additional soil nails requested by the design engineer.

Also, subcontractor M.B.E. will be on site to start work on the lighting and electrical improvements.
