SPEDC BOD Vacancy Notice

The City Council extends an invitation to interested individuals to apply for a voluntary position on the San Pablo Economic Development Corporation (SPEDC) to fill the City appointee vacancy on the Board of Directors for a two-year staggered term (2021-2023) effective February 2021 through January 2023.

The SPEDC is a nonprofit whose mission is to develop, diversify and stabilize the local economy. The organization partners broadly to create economic opportunity locally by educating and training workforce and business. The SPEDC has a five-member Board of Directors, composed of three business community members and two City Council members. The diversity of backgrounds enables the organization to strategically link business and educational needs with the San Pablo community. The Board has the ultimate fiduciary responsibility for the organization.

The SPEDC meets on the third Wednesday of each month. but may meet more often on special projects.  Persons having a desire to serve in this capacity must be residents and registered voters of the City of San Pablo Letters of interest and résumés are due to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 24. To be considered for the position, applicants must attend the meeting on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 6:00 pm and be prepared to be interviewed by the City Council.
